Change in gate access and removal of remotes for RFID tags
At the November 26, 2018 Board of Directors Meeting the Board voted to change our gate access system to include changing from an outdated remote system to RFID tag system. Both 43rd avenue and 5th street SW gates will open for any resident that has an RFID tag on their vehicle. The 43rd street gate will have a key pad entry for residents and their guests. The 5th street SW gate will not have a key pad. This gate will only open for RFID tags or emergency vehicles. Residents will still have a personal code for family and friends visiting.
Reasons for the changes in the gate system: - Safety and security of our community. Some residents have experienced vandalism or loss of property. - Commercial vehicles using the 5th street SW gate, have cost residents thousands in damage over the last few years. - Outdated access system costs $2050.00 a year to run, the new system is 960.00 a year. - Outdated gate remotes now have to be special ordered. - Obsolete entry software that will require additional fees to modify the current database. - The cost of one remote control is $40.00.
Vendor Access Regular Vendors of Arbor Trace will have the option to register and purchase RFID tags that will give them access Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the 43rd avenue gate. Vendors that choose not to get an RFID tag will be able to still use a vendor code at the 43rd avenue gate, that will provide access Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These code access restrictions do not apply to emergency vendors such as police, fire, etc. and to non-emergency vendors such as paper delivery, mail delivery, county mosquito control, etc. As a reminder homeowners personal codes should never be given to venders.
Monthly Codes: The community monthly codes will be updated and may be utilized in situations you are having your driveway changed to pavers, a remodel, tile replacement, etc. The code should only be given for the month of the project. One-time delivery or emergency services, like pizza or plumber we suggest that they call the homeowner via the keypad to let them in, then get them to apply for a code or tag.
Setup: The attached form AT-100 will be used to populate new gate entry software. Residents will be able to select their new gate entry code. We are asking all residents and owners to please provide updated contact information, even if you are declining to purchase RFID tags. Both owners and renters will need to fill out this entry form to prevent a delay in obtaining an active entry code.
RFID Tags A one-time setup fee of $35.00 and $10.00 per vehicle RFID tag. Some vehicles may require a headlight tag that is $15.00 although this is rare. A cost comparison for a family with two vehicles: $55.00 vs 80.00 for two remotes.
Each vehicle requiring a RFID tag must be brought to the processing line to hand in forms and set up tags on the below dates, across from the 5th street SW gate. Drive up in the direction of traffic. • January 5, 2019 - 9am to 11am & 2pm to 4 pm • January 12, 2019 - 9am to 11am & 2pm to 4 pm
Thank you for your cooperation.
