Hurricane Shutter Policy
This policy applies to every owner (member) and occupant of each lot within Arbor Trace as well as their lessees.
Hurricane shutters should not be put up or closed, in the case of accordion shutters, until the start of hurricane season, which is June 1, unless a hurricane is reported to strike the Vero Beach area by the National Hurricane Center before then. Hurricane shutters should be removed or opened, in the case of accordion shutters, by the end of the hurricane season, which is November 30.
This long term shuttering situation during the hurricane season is not condoned by the Association, especially for homes that are occupied, since it will prevent quick exit from a home during a fire or other emergency and will prevent emergency crews from gaining quick access. But this shuttering will not be considered a violation during the hurricane season.
